No software to deal with, USB works fine, no headaches. He was using a laptop computer that he carried between his house to his work studio an outbuilding and was always getting the audio input and output behringr mixed up when plugging them into the computer. Windows XP I don't have any Vista machines recognized it, set up a driver, and that was it.

I haven't used the optical output, but it's nice to know the option is there. I now am eating the cost of this product, or will have to spend more money on a REAL operating system that actually supports hardware devices without vistw the BS! Like it says, you just plug it in.

The UCA looked uda202 it would work for me and the price was right, so I gave it a try. The built in headphone monitoring is helpful as well. My laptop was born without a line-in and because it is Vista; most line-ins are not compatible with it.

Our government failed us once again when the people rose to the occasion to sue Microsoft for being a monopoly. It does what it does, it does it for the right price, and it's incredibly compact and light, which makes it great for mobile behrinnger. Given what I was measuring, I didn't need ultra low noise or distortion.
It is small, extremely easy to setup, and is a breeze to use. Just be aware of the compatibility issue, which is of no fault of Behringer, but is all part of Microsoft's endless schemes to get every dollar they can from the customer and the product designers.
It's so simple, it'll probably still work long after it outgrows its usefulness. The cost to value is tremendous.

Kinda bummed I didn't get it for 20, but it's definitely worth the money I paid. It worked perfectly that way.
But all in all, that happens to almost every recording product. You must log in or sign up to reply here. Many archival audio sources are not digital, such as cassette tape, reel-to-reel tape, LP, etc. Rated 5 out of 5 by Subkid from Well worth the price.
It does the job well, without hassle and at the right price point. I use Windows Vista bit and it works great. There are quite a few reviews already but here are my 2 cents. I wanted an interface unit so that I could transfer My vinyl records and cassettes to digital files on my computer. I experience no delay with headphones haven't tried the other outputs yet. I get a much better audio response through the sound board.
It took a while to get the low latency drivers that I downloaded from the net configured.

I'm sure this will work fine with most of the major softwares including Audacity which is free. It records, it plays, and it gets out of the way when it's unplugged.
